E-Plus verbiedt Skype
KPN dochter E-Plus gaat Skype verbieden voor abonnees die gebruik maken van een Flat Fee data-abonnement zonder data limiet. Abonnees hebben enkel een insteekkaart voor de laptop nodig om in grote delen van het land toegang te krijgen tot het breedbandige mobiele datanetwerk van de KPN-dochter. Voor dit abonnement zou de abonne dan 40 EUR moeten betalen.
Via diensten als Skype zou dan vervolgens gratis of tegen lage kosten gebeld kunnen worden.
Deze actie wordt door E-Plus natuurlijk opgezet om te voorkomen dat de gebelde minuten via de mobiele telefoon niet terug gaan lopen.
Was het niet de muziek industrie die deze fout ook al een keer gemaakt heeft?
Eerst keihard vechten tegen nieuwe technologieën die het uitwisselen van muziek mogelijk maakten. Hierdoor een hoop omzet mislopen, en pas na jaren er achter komen dat samenwerken met dit soort netwerken ook voordelen kan bieden.
